Horizon Festival is seeking expressions of interest from artists and artist groups with a fully realised, presentation-ready work they would like to submit for consideration as part of Horizon Festival 2027, taking place from 20 August - 29 August 2027.
This callout is intended for artists who have a completed or substantially completed work that is ready for presentation within the festival timeframe. Proposed projects should have clearly defined creative and technical requirements, an identified delivery approach, and the capacity to be presented with minimal development support from Horizon Festival.
We are particularly interested in works that align with Horizon Festival's ethos: place-based, joyful, inclusive, rigorous and affecting. Successful proposals will demonstrate artistic quality, a meaningful connection to place or community, audience appeal, and the potential to contribute to the unique identity and energy of Horizon Festival 2027.
This EOI is specifically for artists seeking to present an existing, exhibition-ready, performance-ready or tour-ready work. It is not intended for project concepts, works in early development, requests for commissioning, creative development opportunities, or projects requiring significant festival-led producing support.
Horizon Festival may provide programming consideration, festival context, marketing and audience development support, and assistance with presentation logistics where appropriate. However, applicants should be able to demonstrate that their work is substantially developed, planned and deliverable at the time of application.
The questions in this form are intentionally detailed to assist the festival team in assessing artistic merit, presentation readiness, technical and site requirements, accessibility considerations, audience potential, and overall suitability for Horizon Festival 2027.
