Horizon Festival: Call to Artists & Creatives 

Horizon Festival is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from artists and creative practitioners — visual artists, designers (from graphic to fabric), performers, musicians, and all other disciplines — to work with the festival in the future. Get yours in!

Our Sunshine Coast arts sector is growing and evolving. As the regions annual arts festival we want to work with artists in new ways. This call-out invites ambitious, practicing artists that live, work or have a connection to the Sunshine Coast to reach out to us.   

No theme, no guidelines, no agenda — just you and your work.   

Horizon Festival’s commitment is to embed Sunshine Coast artists throughout our festival program — from start to finish. This is your opportunity to connect with us.

What is Horizon Festival looking for? 

We are looking for a diverse range of artists and creative practitioners to work with Horizon in future festivals. 

Horizon Festival is a curated platform to present and develop powerful arts experiences that showcase our unique stories, share our authentic lifestyle and celebrate our beautiful landscape. To enrich and transform lives through the arts, as we grow to be the Sunshine Coast’s premier cultural event with national significance. 

If you have anything specific to pitch directly to the Horizon team please attach any relevant specific documents at the end of this application.  

Artists and creative practitioners will be invited to work with us based on the following considerations: 

  • Artistic merit | Quality of the practice or work  
  • Level of experience and viability
  • Connection and relevance to the region and Horizons audiences 
  • Alignment with festival vision, dates and resources

Opportunities might include; outdoor/Indoor presentations, unusual Spaces, exhibition and performance, collaborative projects. 

Only one submission is required per artist, creative practitioner or collective. If you have a specific project, work or show to pitch directly to the Horizon team please attach relevant documents at the end of this application.
